Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dental doctor and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her early love for drama and theatre. Her initial dream of becoming a specialist in monkeys was eclipsed by her wish to learn about drama and theater. The actress became famous as a child actress quickly and achieved enormous success. It was only in 1999 after which she began acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou took part in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was raised in the context of a Catholic family and attended church, even though she was a student within school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. Neben her acting, Tautou pursued modelling and was the spokesperson in the advertising campaign for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Photography is another passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival with the name Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity as well as popularity. The exhibition also includes portraits of herself and special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid success after Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first major role starring in the role of the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie achieved international success in the field of box office, and won awards around the globe. It is currently the highest-grossing French film of the French language in the US. After this huge success, Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, including British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
