Sofia Pernas was born in Fes, Morocco, and visited a variety of places around the globe before arriving in Los Angeles. Pernas initially was interested in journalism. However, her life changed when she met a modeling agent and then an acting agency who launched her career. The theory is that her distinctive style was instilled by a Moroccan father as well as an Galician mother. Sofia Pernas (born 1989) is a Spanish-born Moroccan actor who resides in Los Angeles. She's the lead in The Brave. She moved to the US in the year she turned five years old. She grew up there in Orange County. She's multilingual as her mother from Morocco and father are Spanish. As a result she speaks four languages: Arabic, English, Spanish and German. She originally planned to work in journalism, but was then scouted for modeling career. She portrayed Marisa in The Young and the Restless and starred with Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni on the CW television show Jane the Virgin. In the NBC series The Brave, she plays Hannah Rivera, a Defense Intelligence Agency part of the Defense Intelligence Agency.
